How to use:
Step 1 – Preparation: Always wash your hands thoroughly at the beginning. This removes dirt and possible cosmetic residue. Remove all cuticle debris from the nail bed and push back the cuticles. Allow your nails to dry thoroughly to ensure that there is no moisture left under the nail/cuticle. Why is this important? Layers adhere better to a clean, dry and smooth nail bed. The result is more even and the layers stay flawless for longer.
Step 2 – Select: Remove the protective foil from your layer set. Choose the correct size of the layer by comparing the different layers with your nails – you should choose a size that is as close as possible to the size of the nail. Are you between two sizes? Choose the smaller of the two layers and stretch it sideways over the nail bed – the result will be cleaner and more durable.
Step 3 – Placement: Apply a layer to your nail, placing it gently on the nail bed; start on one side, close to the cuticle, and press the layer to the other side. For best results, gently apply the layer to the nail so that it rests on the nail bed and not on the skin, and make sure it is close to the cuticle but not on it – the layers are soft and can be stretched for maximum coverage.
Step 4 – Customize: Pull the layer over the tip of the nail, almost as if you were pulling a fitted sheet over a mattress. Use a nail/finger tip or nail file to press the coating around the leading edge of the nail. Remove the excess by pinching it off and/or using a nail file.
Step 5 – Make permanent: Place your nails under the UV LED lamp, one hand at a time. Press the button and hold your nails under the UV light until the light goes out after 60 seconds. The light from the lamp hardens the material. This increases the durability of the manicure and gives the nails a shiny, shimmering finish. Make sure you hold all the nails under the lamp.
Step 6 – You’ve done it: your manicure is too beautiful not to share with the rest of the world! Take a photo of your nails and post it on social media. Don’t forget to tag @lovenlayer, @lyko and of course #younailedit.
Step 7- Remove: Time for a color or pattern change? How to remove your old layers. Start at the bottom of the cuticle. Peel off the layer slowly and carefully. If you find it difficult to remove the layer, you can use some nail oil. Apply the oil under the layer at the cuticle and wait 2 minutes. Peel off the coating slowly. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Before applying a new coat, remove any cuticle debris from the nail bed and push back the cuticles. Make sure your nails are completely dry to avoid any moisture remaining under the nail bed or cuticles. Note that the nail bed is softer than usual.
